It’s really funny – at first, you don’t know what tribe you’re going on. When I saw my tribe, I was like, “Oh my God, I’m the oldest man!” I would have done so much better on the other tribe. You know, half or three-quarters of Survivor is luck. That’s where the “Papa Bear” came from – I wanted them to believe, which is true, that I’m a loving person. I wanted them to look at me as a father figure, not as a contestant, and it was good up ‘til that point. Then I realized they were going after me.
