New information on the Survivor: South Pacific premiere

This from Reality TV Magazine:

We’re only a few weeks away from the premiere of Survivor: South Pacific, which marks the show’s 23rd season. While most Survivor premieres have only been one hour long, CBS is boosting this edition up by kicking it off with a special 90-minute episode. Want to know more about the big debut? Read on for more details!

The journey of Survivor: South Pacific begins on Wednesday, September 14 from 8 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. This season’s concept is hauntingly familiar to the last edition, Survivor: Redemption Island. There are 16 new castaways up against a pair of returning players with Redemption Island as a factor in the game once again.

Although the title indicates a new location, Survivor: South Pacific was filmed in Samoa — the same place for seasons 19 and 20. An official cast announcement should be coming within the next week or so (Survivor: Nicaragua’s cast was announced August 9, 2010).

That's only good news if this new season features an interesting cast of disparate castaways. However, if it's more of the same dumbasses with no game whatsoever that were endemic to the last two Survivor seasons, it will simply be an addition 30 minutes of boring material.

Keeping my fingers crossed!
